Dataset for manuscript: Clay minerals surface area and pore size has contrasting effect on accumulation of various fractions of soil organic matter in rhizosphere

This dataset originates from a year-long pot experiment examining carbon storage in the rhizosphere of two plant species (Festuca rubra and Lotus corniculatus) grown in substrates dominated by different clay minerals (kaolinite, illite, and montmorillonite), referred to as “separate pots,” and in sand, referred to as “common pots.” End-of-experiment data include plant biomass, carbon percentage in clay and its fractions (OPOM, FPOM, MAOM), microbial and bacterial biomass, and respiration.
