Number of jobs lost in Morocco 2019-2020, by sector

A total of 432 thousand jobs were lost in Morocco between 2019 and 2020, against the 165 thousand created. The most affected sector was agriculture, forestry, and fishery, with 273 thousand employment losses, most of which were in the rural areas. Construction and public works registered the least number of jobs lost (nine thousand) in the period. Furthermore, except for the sector of agriculture, forestry, and fishery, all the others registered more job losses in the urban zones, as opposed to rural areas.
