Dual enrichment culturing that provided soil and digestate competent N2O reducing bacteria destined as bio-additives in digestate based fertilizers destined for soil amendment. Enrichment of indigenous N2O reducing organisms in live digestate or soil where a fraction of enrichmed material was passaged through a series of repeated enrichments, alternating between sterile digestate and sterile soil using N2O as the sole electron acceptor. The community development throughout the enrichments was monitored by means of 16S. Isolated organisms obtained after seven enrichment cycles were genome sequenced and their strengths as N2O sinks as axcenic cultures, and as soil amendmends was elucidated
