Healthcare Professionals’ and Patients’ Attitudes Toward the Causes and Management of Aggression in Estonian Psychiatric Clinics: a Quantitative Cross-sectional Comparative Study

The dataset is part of a quantitative questionnaire-based survey of psychiatrists, nurses, and adult inpatients in Estonian psychiatric clinics regarding the causes and management of patient aggression. Additionally, it was determined how frequently psychiatrists and nurses encountered patient aggression, participated in coercion, and felt anxiety and support from coworkers as a result of aggression while working in a psychiatric clinic. The Management of Aggression and Violence Attitude Scale was used to assess attitudes toward the causes and management of patient aggression. The survey took place between September and October of 2019 and included 63 psychiatrists, 197 nurses, and 199 adult inpatients.
