In the interest of a wider dissemination of the knowledge contained therein, the author's <strong>PhD Thesis</strong>, entitled <strong><em>"Biomimetic Models of the Active Site of the Metalloenzyme Nitrile Hydratase"</em></strong> (University of Washington, Seattle, <strong>2001</strong>), is reproduced here. To illustrate the evolution of knowledge, the author's Precandidacy (1998) and General Exam (1999) papers and a poster (2000) are included. All of the experimental results contained within this PhD thesis have by now been reported in journal articles.
