A dataset of 1km Grid Road network density in China(2022）

Road network density is a basic indicator for evaluating the scale and level of regional road development. As a comprehensive characterization indicator, the calculation and monitoring of road network density is an important indicator for evaluating regional transportation and economic development, and provides a reference basis for the formulation of urban road management and control measures. It is of great significance for urban planning and municipal management. This article uses vector data from national land surveys on railway land, highway land, urban and rural road land, and rail transit to extract road centerlines. Using kilometer grid production software, the 2022 China 1km grid density dataset is obtained through grid space calculation. This dataset can be used for research in the formulation of national spatial planning, evaluation of planning implementation, calculation of regional transportation development factors, and calculation of accessibility.
