Dataset associated with a study on woody plant encroachment in sub-Mediterranean grasslands of the northern Iberian Peninsula. It includes vegetation surveys from 144 plots across four study sites and along a woody cover gradient, from open grassland to closed shrubland. The data support analyses of plant diversity, morpho-functional groups, floristic composition, and the influence of environmental variables.
