Corpus of Viöl Danish

This repository contains the Corpus of Viöl Danish, the southernmost documented Danish dialect. The dialect was spoken until the first half of the 20th century in present-day Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The texts in the corpus were recorded in the period c. 1856–1934, the majority of them by the linguist Anders Bjerrum. In addition to the texts, the collection contains corpus metadata, a bibliography of Viöl Danish, a README, and scans of three manuscripts containing Viöl Danish texts. The publication of the corpus was made possible thanks to a grant from the Ulla and Børge Andersen Fountation for Linguistic Research (Ulla og Børge Andersens fond for sprogvidenskabelig forskning).
