A U.S. Gulf-wide Ecopath with Ecosim and Ecospace model for the continental shelf incorporating spatial-temporal environmental drivers

This work applies an ecosystem modeling approach to inform ecosystem-based fisheries management (EBFM) with a focus on holistic environment, ecosystem, and fisheries interactions. Herein we develop the U.S. Gulf-Integrated Spatial-Temporal Ecosystem Model (GIST) as a quantitative assessment tool to support EBFM decision-making for the Gulf of America (formerly Gulf of Mexico; hereafter, Gulf) using the Ecopath with Ecosim and Ecospace (EwE) approach.
