Nocturnal Lepidopterans as Essential Pollinators of Aspidosperma pyrifolium (Apocynaceae), a Keystone Tree in the Caatinga Dry Forest

This dataset provides synthesized records of reproductive phenology and floral visitation frequency for Aspidosperma pyrifolium (Apocynaceae), a culturally and ecologically important tree species in Brazil’s Caatinga dry forest. The data were collected as part of a study investigating the species' reproductive biology and pollination system. A. pyrifolium relies predominantly on nocturnal Lepidoptera (particularly hawkmoths and settling moths) for effective pollination. The dataset offers valuable insights into plant–pollinator interactions in seasonally dry tropical ecosystems and underscores the critical ecological role of nocturnal pollinators in maintaining native plant populations.
