Longitudinal study of the vaginal microbiota in pregnant women undergoing in vitro fertilization

Accumulating evidence suggests that vaginal microbiota play important roles in gynecological and reproductive health of women. Here, we investigated the vaginal microbiota composition and dynamic changes in pregnant women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) and to explore the microbiota that were related to preterm birth. Sixteen women who conceived after IVF and six women who conceived naturally were recruited in this study.
