A Protocol and Training Dataset for Facial Analytics from a Coordinate Extrapolation System for Developing Zebrafish (zFACE)

Here we provide a protocol and training dataset for a method to rapidly analyze craniofacial development in zebrafish embryos using facial analytics based on a coordinate extrapolation system, termed zFACE. Morphometric data are captured based on anatomical landmarks present in confocal images of zebrafish facial regions at different stages of development. Phenotypic variation and changes in facial morphology can be assessed using the morphometric data. A detailed protocol, training dataset consisting of 28 confocal images of the faces of 5 day post-fertilization wild-type AB zebrafish embryos, and templates to assist with processing the data are provided.
