We performed 10x Genomics scRNA-seq on hypopharyngeal epithelium of mice to study rare sensory epithelial cells that synapse with afferent nerves. Such epithelial cells include subsets of POU2F3+ chemosensory cells (PCCs) in various organs. This study represents transcriptome analysis of the mouse hypopharyngeal epithelium and provide new insights into airway protective chemoreflexes.
