Canada Dental Cost Index by Province (2026): Out-of-Pocket Procedure Costs and CDCP Coverage
收藏资源简介:
Open dataset benchmarking out-of-pocket dental procedure costs across all 10 Canadian provinces in 2026, and how they intersect with the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP / RCSD). The CDCP does not cover dental implants or implant-supported crowns, covers complete dentures, and covers crowns only partially (preauthorization; non-seated crowns reimbursed at ~20% of CDCP fees), so Canadians face large out-of-pocket costs for the procedures the plan excludes. Nine procedures x ten provinces (90 cells): recall exam, scaling, composite filling, simple extraction, root canal (molar), complete denture, cast-metal partial denture, ceramic crown, single dental implant. A Composite Dental Cost Index (100 = national average) ranks provinces: Ontario highest (~121), Prince Edward Island lowest (~83). Single-implant national average ~CAD 4,400. Methodology & honesty: each cell is either official (with a real source URL from a provincial dental fee guide or cited clinic/insurer page) or a documented modelled estimate (when the provincial guide is paywalled/members-only, e.g. SK, MB, parts of NL), derived from a neighbouring province's official baseline scaled by a provincial cost factor and noted per cell. No bare/invented numbers (~43 official, ~47 documented estimates, 0 unsourced). Sources include provincial fee guides (ODA, ADA Alberta, BCDA, NSDA, NBDS, DAPEI, ACDQ, CDSS, MDA, NLDA), Statistics Canada COHS 2023-24, and canada.ca CDCP/RCSD coverage pages.
