"In recent years, the use of ICT in education has advanced, and it is expected that this will facilitate self-regulated learning, making it easier for children to independently engage in review and advanced study. However, to achieve this, learners must objectively grasp their own learning status and identify the knowledge that requires their review. This is challenging for some learners. Therefore, in this study, we propose a review-target knowledge visualization system that is aimed at supporting learners as they seek to identify review-target knowledge and select the next problem to work on. This system uses both subjective comprehension status and answer correctness to visualize candidates for review-target knowledge on a knowledge map that is defined based on the theory of learning hierarchy. To evaluate the effectiveness of this system, we performed a practice using the system in a high school physics class. The results suggest that the system provides effective insights to identify knowledge to be targeted for review and select the next problems to work on. Furthermore, it was suggested that, when learners appropriately interpret the visual information presented by the system and elevate their thinking by using their identification of review-target knowledge to select the next problems to work on, this contributes to an improvement in comprehension."
