The genomes of strains from Bacillus oceanisediminisYPW-2 are rarely reported to uncover its ecological functions. In this study, a strain named YPW-V2 was isolated from the rhizosphere of Kandelia candle in the mangrove forest located in Wenzhou city, China. The genome of YPW-V2 possessed 2 chitinase genes that can degrade chitin, indicating that YPW-V2 participated in nutrient providing, disease resistance and carbon cycle in mangroves.
