资源简介:
The 1000BRAINS study is aimed at investigating variability in brain structure and function of the aging brain in light of environmental, behavioural and genetic factors in an epidemiologic population-based design. Amongst other data, 11-minutes of resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rsfMRI) was acquired from all participants (N > 1000, age range: 18-87 years). The use of rsfMRI allows studying resting-state functional connectivity (RSFC) patterns throughout the brain. The functional network organization at rest has not only been suggested to share similarities with task-related functional activity, but also to show age-related changes. For instance, it has been shown that RSFC between and within network changes to more integration and less segregation during the aging process. To gain a greater insight into RSFC in the aging context, whole-brain RSFC was calculated in the present study for 400 cortical regions of Schaefer's parcellation. The presented data may be used in studies focusing on investigations of RSFC across the life span and the aging context using basic and advanced statistical analyses, e.g. graph-theoretical analyses.
