Role of 14-3-3 in the transcriptional response of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to potassium starvation.

We investigated the transcriptional response of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae bmh1 and bmh2 deletion mutants to potassium starvation. To this end yeast strains were grown for 60 min in media without potassium or in media with a standard potassium concentration (50 mM KCl). Using Serial Analysis of Gene Expression (SAGE)-tag sequencing the effect of potassium starvation on the transcriptome was determined. This study is a follow-up of our previous study (Anemaet IG and van Heusden GPH. 2014. BMC Genomics:1040)( GEO accession number GSE57093).

本研究探究了酿酒酵母(Saccharomyces cerevisiae)bmh1与bmh2缺失突变体对钾饥饿的转录响应。为此,我们将酵母菌株在不含钾的培养基或含标准钾浓度(50 mM KCl)的培养基中培养60分钟。采用基因表达系列分析(Serial Analysis of Gene Expression, SAGE)标签测序技术,测定了钾饥饿对转录组的影响。本研究是我们此前一项研究的延续(Anemaet IG与van Heusden GPH,2014年,《BMC基因组学》:1040),其基因表达综合数据库(Gene Expression Omnibus, GEO)登录号为GSE57093。
