The Molecular Basis of Breast Cancer. Homo sapiens

This sequencing study will look for markers in benign breast disease (BBD) that correlate with the formation of invasive breast cancer. We will use specimens of BDD from women who did and women who did not progress to subsequent invasive breast cancer, as well as tumor material in cases where progression did occur. Deep sequence coverage will enable the detection of early lesions and determination of driver mutations.
