Exploratory pharmacogene variation in Ghanaian population

Genetic variations in drug metabolising enzymes play a role in how individuals respond to drugs. Pharmacogene variation data in the Ghanaian population is limited and this study looks at exploring common variations that exist in our population for commonly used drugs. Samples were validated with PCR-RFLP for accuracy 100 samples were genotyped for pharmacogenes using the MassArrayiPLEX genotyping assay using the iPLEX Gold genotyping kit from Agena Bioscience. This requires an input of 40ng of DNA per sample. Samples are dispensed onto a SpectroCHIP Array and data acquired using MassARRAY analyzer. Data is automatically analyzed and acquired using Typer software version 3.99.105 for each sample.
