This dataset contains raw 16S rDNA sequencing data obtained from the fecal samples of pathogen-free SD female rats, which were used to study the composition of gut microbiota in a rat model of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The samples were collected from rats in which PCOS was induced by letrozole (LET) combined with a high-fat diet (HFD) and were obtained using standard aseptic techniques. DNA extraction was performed using the QIAamp DNA Stool Mini Kit according to the manufacturer's instructions. The V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was amplified using the primer pair 341F-806R, and libraries were sequenced on the Illumina MiSeq platform. This dataset is part of a larger study that investigates the relationship between gut microbiota, insulin resistance, and ovarian cell apoptosis in PCOS rats following mangiferin intervention. The sequence data can be used for microbial diversity analysis, taxonomic classification, and understanding microbiota dysbiosis associated with PCOS.
