Functional Role of ATO Gene Family in Candida albicans SCFA Uptake and Gut Colonisation

This project investigates the role of the ATO gene family in Candida albicans regarding the uptake of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and stable colonisation of the gut. It includes the sequencing of multiple CRISPR-Cas9-derived deletion mutants generated from the SC5314 background. Whole-genome sequencing was performed using Illumina MiSeq technology, and assemblies were used to assess genetic integrity and validate genome editing events.
