Homo sapiens Transcriptome or Gene expression

The study aims to investigate the gene expression involved with cortico-striato-thalamic circuitry (CSTC) in patients with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), using three different striatal brain areas (caudate nucleus, putamen and accumbens nucleus) comparing to control individuals. This is the first study to propose this approach in OCD, it also aims to explore qualitative and quantitative differences in the striatum tripartite model in OCD cases compared to controls and verify if these findings are related to common or rare variations previously associated with OCD.
