The positive influence of exercise on human health has long been known. While the benefits of physical activity on brain and cognitive function have already been described, the molecular mechanisms underlying these beneficial effects remain poorly understood. Here, we analyzed the genome-wide transcriptomic changes induced by long term resistance or endurance training in the hippocampus of wild-type mice. We performed RNA sequencing of mice hippocampus to better understand the mechanisms through which exercise has beneficial effects on this structure, which is involved in learning and memory processes.
