Datasets used in Leskinen et al. (2026) "Novel Possibilities of In-Situ Cloud Observation with Drone-Mountable Holographic Imager"

The datasets contain the measurement data from a cloud measurement campaign that took place at the Arctic UAV base of Finnish Meteorological Institute at Pallas on 13, 27, and 29 September 2023 . The flight launch site (68.01987N, 24.15016E, 305 m above sea level) was an opening with low vegetation. Aerial observations enclosed an area of 5 km in diameter approximately around the Pallas station. Details about flights are reported in Tables 1 and 2. Datasets include additional information taken from selected continuous aerosol, cloud, and weather measurements at the Sammaltunturi station (67.97332N, 24.11572E, 565 m above sea level, FMISID 101983, WMO 0282). 

This record includes quality-controlled and quality-assured data that have been checked to filter out, if present, any possible instrument malfunctions and physically inconsistent values. Details about instrument calibration and processing algorithms of raw data are reported in the main paper (Leskinen et al., 2026).Datasets whose names start with Talon or Marta correspond to aerial observations, and those with Sammaltunturi correspond to surface-based observations at the Sammaltunturi station.
