UA Future DH Potentials

For the Urban Areas (as defined in sEEnergies D5.2) in EU27+UK the physical and the economic potentials for district heat supply were assessed. For the physical potentail assessment the heat demands in the Urban Areas (in the Baseline (BL) 2050 and the Frozen Efficiency (FE) 2050 scenarios) were classified by Heat Demand Density Class. Here, the heat demands of raster cells with a heat demand density greater than 20, 35 and 50 TJ/km² were aggregated per Urban Area. For the economic potential assessment heat demands of cells with District Heat Distribution Capital Costs below 20, 10, 5 and 2 Euro per Gigajoule (GJ) in the BL2050 and the FE2050 scenarios were aggregated per Urban Area.
