The Principle of Leakage Regulation: Dynamic Masks and the Political Economy of Subjective Extraction

Abstract Contemporary theories of subjectivity have extensively examined performance, identity, discourse, and social roles. However, relatively little attention has been devoted to the phenomenon of subjective leakage and its relation to exhaustion and extraction. This paper develops a new theoretical framework grounded in the philosophy of the Dynamic Mask and the Political Economy of Leakage. Contrary to traditional understandings that treat masks merely as instruments of concealment, the present framework conceives masks as intelligent regulatory mechanisms governing the intensity, direction, and speed of subjective leakage. The paper argues that a healthy subject is not one that completely suppresses exposure, but rather one that employs dynamic masks to prevent leakage from becoming an endless process of existential extraction. Introducing the Principle of Leakage Regulation, the article proposes that ethical responsibility consists not in achieving transparency or uncovering an authentic essence, but in regulating the conditions under which the subject appears, acts, and expends itself. The paper further develops concepts such as blurred will, post-action intentionality, responsible suspension, and existential sufficiency, presenting them as interconnected components of a broader architecture designed for the exhausted subject of late modernity.
