<P>Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.</P><br>The principal aim of this study was to test the hypothesis that the ideological mapping of Labour politicians is best drawn on the basis of two dimensions: state/market and national sovereignty/interdependence. The research was intended to contribute to knowledge and understanding of the ideological configuration of the Labour Party, particularly over European integration.<br><B>Main Topics</B>:<BR><br>Topics covered include Labour Parliamentarians' attitudes to the issues of: Economic and Monetary Union; Economic Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM); European Union (EU) fiscal policy; industrial strategy; `subsidiarity'; constitutional reform of EU institutions with particular reference to Qualified Majority Voting (QMV), the sovereignty of the UK Parliament; `enlargement'; jurisprudence.<br>
Standard Measures<br>
Respondents were asked to `tick' a scale from `strongly agree' `agree', `neither', `disagree', to `strongly disagree', for 59 attitudinal statements.
