Data for modeling the productivity of opportunity crops across Africa under climate change in support of the Vision for Adapted Crops and Soils

The SIMPLE crop model simulation data for the 24 Africa opportunity crops as described in Guarin and Yang et al., 2024. The simulation output contains the annual longitude/latitude, sowing date (mm/dd/yyyy), season duration from sowing to physiological maturity (days), final aboveground biomass (kg/ha), final yield (kg/ha), and maturity date (mm/dd/yyyy) of each 0.5 x 0.5 degree grid cell simulated for each crop under the three climate scenarios examined. The climate scenarios consist of a historical (1990-2019), SSP1-2.6 (2035-2064), and SSP3-7.0 (2035-2064) emissions scenario from four Global Climate Models (GCMs) (GFDL-ESM4, IPSL-CM6A-LR, MPI-ESM1-2-HR, and MRI-ESM2-0) resulting in a total of 12 output files per crop.
