Distribution of parvalbumin-positive interneurons in the normal adult rat brain (v2)

High-resolution bright-field microscopy images of horizontal brain sections showing parvalbumin-positive neurons across the normal adult rat brain. The dataset consists of image series covering the entire brain from four Sprague Dawley female rats. For each brain, every fourth section was processed by diaminobenzidine (DAB) immunohistochemistry using a monoclonal parvalbumin (RRID:AB_477329) antibody. The data can be used to investigate the distribution of parvalbumin-positive neurons in the rat brain, and may be compared to our published data from the mouse brain [(Laja et al., 2025)](https://doi.org/10.25493/AXRX-Z2R), acquired using the same techniques.
