Insurance penetration (premiums as a percentage of GDP) in the Netherlands 1970-2022

In 2022, insurance penetration in the Netherlands fell below nine percent. Insurance penetration is defined as insurance premiums as a percentage of GDP, and is deemed the standard measure to check the development of a country's insurance market. The number of insurance companies on the Dutch market has been falling since 2006.
