Gibbon metagenomics

This project is designed to enrich and recover the host genome from the complex metagenomic background of the Hainan gibbon, the world rarest primate. By focusing on host DNA extraction and assembly, we aim to obtain a high-quality reference genome that will allow accurate assessment of population structure, genetic diversity, and demographic history. These genomic insights are essential for understanding the current population status of the Hainan gibbon and will provide a solid scientific basis for its conservation and long-term management strategies.
