资源简介:
This study (a pilot to the MOTION Study) is a longitudinal observational multi-domain pilot study that investigates the Gut-Brain axis in healthy elderly at differential genetic risk for developing Alzheimer's disease (AD) and compares this to a small group of AD patients. The project explores how the gut microbiome changes with healthy ageing over time and investigates the role of potential risk factors for AD on cognition, brain health and microbiome profiles. The gut microbiota is assessed at three time points (baseline, 6 months, 12 months) over the period of 12 months using whole metagenomic shotgun sequencing.
