Census of Wholesale Trade, 1972: Public Use Summary Tape

This data collection contains summary statistics for whosesalers. Variables include number of establishments, sales, inventories at year end 1972, operating expenses (including payroll), payroll for the first quarter and the entire year for 1972, and number of paid employees the week of March 12, 1972. Also included are data for total number of merchant wholesalers, sales, number of establishments designated as "other operating type", and all previous variables sorted by different type. Kind-of-business classifications in these files are in accordance with the industry classifications defined in the 1972 edition of the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) manual.
