资源简介:
EPC 26845 known as the Bingegang Coal Project, is held by Metroof Minerals Pty Ltd. The tenure is located approximately 44km north-east of Blackwater and 133km west of Rockhampton in Central Queensland, on the eastern margin of the Bowen Basin.
The tenure covers folded and faulted Upper to Middle Permian rocks of the Blackwater Group which contain coal seams that are potentially exploitable as PCI or high energy coals of semi-anthracitic rank.
This is the second (2nd) year of reporting (Year 2) and exploration and evaluation work carried out to-date has included desktop studies and fieldwork. This involved completing Stage 2 of a ground gravity survey in November 2019 to target prospective zones of shallow coal. Several low gravity areas were identified.
This exploration work program is designed to be iterative. The anomalous gravity areas are to be tested with rotary chip holes to 150m in depth, with several 2D seismic lines also anticipated to be conducted. Targets generated by the seismic survey would be drilled with chip holes to similar depths.
However, preparations for the drilling were suspended in early 2020 as restrictions to travel and access due to the COVID-19 pandemic have prevented exploration from progressing. This provided the opportunity for Metroof Minerals Pty Ltd to review the prospectivity of EPC 26845 (Biggs & Nowland, 2020).
The results of this study recommended:
• that exploration of the tenure continue, as prospective areas have been identified,
• that the seven (7) borehole chip drilling program planned be implemented, and
• then based on a positive outcome from that drilling program, a 2D seismic survey be scheduled and implemented.
