This project used shotgun metagenomics to characterize the microbial community associated with paired serpentine (s) and nonserpentine (ns) bulk soils across California. Sequencing was carried out at Dalhousie University using NextSeq2000 (2x150 bp PE P3 cell) at 4X depth (~24 M PE reads = 48 M single reads & 7.2 Gb/sample). Samples names are in the format of sample number-site-soil (i.e., 1-tahns is sample number 1 from Tahoe and nonserpentine soil).
