Root associated soil microbiome from various forest tree species

This study used long-term trial sites to explore the direct and interactive effects of site and tree host on the phylogenetic diversity (bacterial, fungal and oomycete community composition) within the soil ecosystem. We used high throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA and ITS rRNA on soil samples collected from New Forest Trial series in New Zealand, a trial established on marginal pastoral land to assess the effect of afforesting land with different tree species across a climate range.
