The prokaryotic diversity and taxon abundance in four parallel bioreactors inoculated with the same material, using metagenomics have been studied. The substrate used was a volume based mix of 87 % dairy cow manure and 13 % fish silage. The four CSTR reactors were operated anaerobically at 37°C, with a stirring speed of 150 rpm. By using the metagenomic approach, we have characterised the prokaryotic consortium in the bioreactors and studied to what extent the prokaryotic consortia in the four parallel reactors differ from each other.
