Zoonotic fungus Arthroderma multifidum caused chronic pulmonary infection

A rare case of fungus Arthroderma multifidum infection occurred in a 63-year-old man from Hangzhou, China. The pathogen Arthroderma multifidum was identified by alveolar lavage fluid culture and gene sequencing. ITS sequencing, 18srDNA sequencing and whole genome sequencing were used. The phylogenetic location of the fungus was determined by phylogenetic analysis. This is the first report of human infection caused by Arthroderma multifidum.
