This dataset contains the input data used to perform the sensitivity analysis and multi-scenario network optimisation presented in Deliverable D3.5 (3.5 – Sensitivity Analysis and Multi-Scenario Network Optimization with Guidelines about Risk Hotspots, University of Bologna) of the R3PACK project. The model supports the strategic design and evaluation of a closed-loop logistics network for reusable food packaging across France, Belgium and Luxembourg. The Excel workbook describes the main network actors, packaged products, reusable packaging types and admissible relationships between the different entities. The database also includes product demand, transport distances, facility capacities, processing costs, environmental impact factors and the parameters required to model packaging production, distribution, collection, sorting and washing activities. The dataset was used to evaluate alternative combinations of packaging return and scrap rates and to assess their effects on network configuration, logistics flows, costs and greenhouse-gas emissions. The tables are structured according to the sets, subsets and parameters of the mixed-integer linear programming model used in the deliverable. Product – Describes the packaged products considered by the model, including total product weight, pallet capacity, associated packaging, food item, packaging producer, food packager and estimated number of reuse rotations. ProductPackaging – Defines the bill of materials of each packaged product by associating it with its food content and reusable packaging component. DistributionCenter – Lists the distribution centres included in the network, together with activation, storage and handling-capacity parameters. FoodPackager – Lists the food-packaging facilities and the corresponding activation-cost parameters. EAN – Associates each food item or EAN identifier with its food-packaging company. PackagingList – Describes the reusable packaging types, including weight, pallet saturation at the different logistics stages, disposal costs, scrap rate, environmental-impact factors, production costs and manufacturer. Sorter – Lists the potential sorting facilities, together with sorting capacity and investment parameters. PackagingProducer – Lists the facilities that can manufacture reusable packaging. PARAMETERS – Contains general model parameters, including operating, transport-speed and time-related assumptions. RVM – Describes the Reverse Vending Machine configuration, including installation cost, collection capacity, investment horizon and fixed environmental impact. Store – Lists the retail stores representing the demand and packaging-return points in the network. Transport – Describes the available transport mode, including vehicle capacity, unit transportation cost and environmental-impact factor. Washer – Lists the washing facilities and their processing capacities. DC_Product – Defines the packaged products that can be handled by each distribution centre, together with throughput and handling-cost parameters. FP_Product – Defines which packaged products can be processed by each food packager, including production capacity and unit processing cost. FP_Packaging – Associates each food-packaging facility with the reusable packaging types it can handle. Sorter_Packaging – Defines which packaging types can be processed by each sorting facility and the corresponding unit sorting cost. PackagingProducer_Pack – Defines which reusable packaging types can be manufactured by each packaging producer, together with production capacity, unit cost and environmental-impact factors. Store_Product – Defines the packaged products that can be sold and demanded at each retail store. Demand – Reports the demand for each food item at each store, also identifying the store typology. WasherPackaging – Defines the packaging types accepted by each washing facility, together with unit washing costs and environmental-impact factors. Distances – Reports the distances between nodes.
