The Immunomodulatory Effect of Mesenchymal Stem Cell-Derived Exosomes in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells of Patients with Allergic Rhinitis

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is defined as a chronic inflammatory condition of nasal mucosa, which affects approximately 10%-40% of the population globally. Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes (MSC-Exos) are proven with promising immunomodulatory capabilities for a variety of clinical conditions. However, the potential regulatory mechanisms of MSC-Exos in AR remain unexplored. The present study was designed to investigate the immunomodulatory effect of MSC-Exos in patients with symptoms of AR. The peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated from AR patients and treated with MSC-Exos.
