Replication Data for "DECRIMINALIZATION AND DEATH: AN EMPIRICAL RETROSPECTIVE ON THE CONSEQUENCES OF OREGON’S MEASURE 110"

Our replication data is comprised of two datasets. The first contains data at the county level for overdose deaths in Multnomah County, Oregon and six other counties with an urban center in the Western United States from January 2018- February 2025. That dataset is compiled from a public dataset maintained by the CDC. The second dataset contains arrest data for Multnomah County, Oregon from January 2018-August 2025. This data was provided to us by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. To replicate our analysis, we include two versions of this dataset. The first version (multnomah_crime_2018_2025_collapsed_figures.dta) reports the number of arrests for drug possession and theft in each month in Multnomah County from January 2018-August 2025. The second version (multnomah_crime_2018_2025_collapsed_reg.dta) reports similar data, but begins in July 2020 and concludes in August 2025.
