Pan Trap Dataset in the Grassland and Woodlot

Methods: Pan trap dataset was collected in the grassland area and woodlot at York University, Keele Campus using three different coloured (blue, yellow, and white) plastic bowls. 9 bowls were set in the grassland and 9 in the woodlot with three of each colour bowls filled with soapy water. Nine bowls were set up with alternating colour in each of the study area, grassland and woodlot, at about 2-3 meters apart in a line. Each bowl was about half filled with soapy water so the insects cannot escape. Grassland site was visited again after an hour and a quick count of total number of insects found in each bowl and identification of the insects was performed. The soapy water was then disposed releasing the insects and the bowls were collected. The same procedure was done in the woodlot however, the number of insects and their identification was observed after about 35 minutes.
