The objective is to quantify changes in Arabidopsis thaliana growth and soil microbiome composition caused by vesicles from Pseudomonas flouresens and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. High and low concentrations of both P. flouresens and S. cerevisiae have been injected into the soil of A. thaliana plants. A. thaliana were grown in a growth chamber, both soil and plant samples have been collected and we will extract DNA for quantification through 16s sequencing. The results of sequencing will determine the effects of vesicles in the soil on plant growth and soil microbiome composition, which will indicate the viability of vesicles as a novel method of fertilization.
