The Women's Directorate was established in 1984 and was abolished in 1992. It was replaced by the Women and Work Unit. In 1996 to fulfil an election promise the Women's Equity Bureau (WEB) was established in the Department of Industrial Relations. Since 2006, WEB activities began streamline into general policy work. The last vestiges of WEB ceased in 2011.These files relate to issues specific to women in the workplace that were addressed by Womens Equity Bureau - anti-discrimination, maternity, carers and adoption leave, pay equity, work and family strategy, pregnancy, casual work, outwork, apprenticeships, training etc.
