Intense Tropical Thunderstorms in a Future Warmer Climate

A simplified model simulation has been used to predict the intensities of future thunderstorms over land surfaces. We found that severe thunderstorm with heavy precipitation will prevail over islands and wet land surfaces in the future. These significant increases in thunderstorm intensity could have detrimental effect on human life.
