Users can gather data and information on all topics related to school health and student wellness. Background The School Health Programs and Policies Study (SHPPS) is part of the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. SHPPS is a survey designed to assess policies and programs, which are related to health education, physical education and activity, health services, mental health and social services, nutrition services, healthy and safe school environments, faculty and staff health promotion, and famil y and community involvement. User Functionality Users can read and download fact sheets on health topics, such as: food safety; HIV prevention; suicide prevention; nutrition; and school health coordination. Fact sheets are also available for download by specific component, such as: health education or physical education. Additional resources include: combined YRBS (Youth Risk Behavior Survey) and SHPPS reports; state level summaries; state report cards; and district report cards. Citations of publications, the questionnaires and Podcasts are also available. Finally, users can download the full data files in SAS, SPSS or Access. Information is available on a state, district, school or classroom level. Data Notes SHPPS was conducted in 1994, 2000 and 2006. Data or reports from all these years are available. The next survey is expected for 2012.
