30,229 SARS-CoV-2 sequences with the collection date ranging from 31 December 2019 to 22 March 2021 were retrieved from the GISAID database (https://www.gisaid.org/). Multiple sequence alignment (MSA) of the sequences was performed using MAFFT with the parameters left as default and the results are split into four smaller files for the ease of identifying mutations.
