Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Junction 16, M4, Swindon, Wiltshire, March 2024

This collection comprises image, spreadsheet and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation of land off Junction 16 of the M4, Swindon, Wiltshire. The work was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in March 2024 and a total of 21 trenches were excavated. Evidence of medieval/post-medieval and later agricultural practices, comprising a probable former field boundary and the ploughed-out remains of ridge and furrow cultivation, was identified in the north-western and south-eastern parts of the site. No further features or deposits of archaeological interest were identified during the current works.
