EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION OF A COMMUNITY BASED TELEHEALTH PROGRAM ON HEALTHCARE ACCESS IN REMOTE PHILIPPINE BARANGAYS

This study assessed how a community-based telehealth programme affected the availability of healthcare for people living in isolated Philippine barangays. The participants' healthcare access levels were evaluated both before and after the telehealth intervention was put into place using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with control groups. The experimental group's healthcare access scores improved statistically significantly (p <.05) when compared to the control group. Results demonstrate how telehealth can improve service accessibility in underserved and remote populations. There is a discussion of the implications for programme extension and policy.
